It’s never too soon to be planning your next trip. Although the summer months are typically the best for travelers for the weather and a more flexible work schedule, there's no reason why you should allow yourself to have a boring fall/winter. There are exciting locations all over the world that won't break your bank account.

August: Berlin

August is a perfect time to visit Berlin because of the weather peaks, on average, in the mid-70's (Fahrenheit) at this time of the year. Aside from the best museums, art, and historical sites in Berlin visitors can find that in August there are a lot of other events too! The International Berlin Beer Festival takes place August 4-6 while at the same time the German-American Folk Festival is ongoing from July 21-13 August. Accommodations in this city do book up quickly, so make sure you book a hotel or Airbnb well in advance.

September: Rome

Is there ever really a bad time to visit Rome? Well, no. However, September is absolutely the best due to its Italian weather that is cooling down although still pleasantly warm averaging at about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. There still is a buzz in the city walls from last minute tourism before the cold weather comes, but it is also the time when the hotels can give their best values. Early September also begins soccer season which is exciting because Rome is home to two soccer teams that are bitter rivals. Also from July to late September movies are shown outdoors nearly every night during the summer nights on Tiberina Island.

October: Cape Town

Still trying to get some extra sunrays before winter comes? Cape Town, South Africa is the ideal place to go in October as it is their spring and the weather averages 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit. Besides the hotels averaging $80 a night there are many food and wine festivals, outdoor live music parties and of course- whale watching! The Whale Watching season goes from June to November annually and brings many visitors worldwide for this FREE once in a lifetime event. Tourists should especially come in October because it is when Cape Town hosts the Fringe Festival (September 22- October 8). The event showcases over 80 mostly local dance, theatre, performing arts and music gigs.

November: Rio de Janiero

While the sea may always be warm enough for a swim in Rio de Janerio November is the best month of the year to visit because the average sea temperature is about 73 degrees Fahrenheit. It is spring in Rio in November, but the temperatures average between 70-80 degrees during the day and 60s by night. Between the temperatures and the prices being just-right makes November the best month to travel to Rio de Janiero.

December: Frankfurt

Germany is known for their extravagant Christmas markets and magical city-wide décor, but that only contributes to the reason it is the best city to visit in December. In addition, hotels will be the cheapest at this time than all year long at 56% cheaper than at their peak. Besides the standard Frankfurt must-see sites, in December visitors should go ice skating at the Eissporthalle by taking the U7 train or tram number 12. Another fun choice is to take a ride on the Ebbelwoi-Express which is a historical tram ride that takes visitors past many sites throughout the city while serving apple juice or cider so you can see all the city has to offer!
